I happened to view the Illinois Gov Blagojevich's statement to the press yesterday and what caught my attention was his standing behind the following statement; "I have on my side the most powerful ally and it's the TRUTH." Whether the beleagured governor is telling the truth or not, we will soon find out from the audio tapes that have been captured by the FBI, but, I immediately thought of the real TRUTH and was planning to focus on it in a future entry.
Then, low and behold, the devotional scripture this AM was, John 18 and in this chapter is the following; " 37 "You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
38"What is truth?" Pilate asked."
Here is the TRUTH; Jesus Christ came into the world to save us and He is the 'Way, the Truth and the Life'. No one can come to the Father, but through Him. BTW, that statement is called, the Gospel.
As Jesus stated above, 'Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.' Pretty telling, eh?
The other thing that caught my focus relative to this subject was how, knowing the Scriptures, I was able to hear God's message in the worldly situation with the governor. Just another reason to be in the Word regularly in order to keep a good handle on the real TRUTH.

Exactly what we talked about on the phone yesterday... We ask why is this happening and why the world mad about this and that when they "supposedly" got their way with the election, etc... Shouldn't they be happy? The TRUTH is that they can never experience contentment and true joy unless they expereince a relationship with Jesus Christ! That's the TRUTH!
