For years I have been perplexed, yet inspired, by the verse, John 14:15: “If you love me, you will obey what I command.” Each time I read that I immediately have to run back through the areas of the Bible that I know of in order to rediscover what Jesus' commands 'actually' are. Well, thank you, Lord, for the preaching of Kris Myers @ New Vision Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN. He nailed it (get it, bad joke) yesterday and made it forever available for me, and you, ........... the Commandments of Jesus;
1. Repent and Believe the gospel (Mark 1:15)
2. Be Baptized (Mark 16:16)
3. Receive the Holy Spirit (John 20:21-22)
4. Love God and you neighbor (Matthew 22:37-40)
a. Your fellow disciples (John 13:34-35)
b. The needy (Luke 12:33)
c. Your enemies (Matthew 5:43-44)
5. Break bread (Luke 22:19)
6. Pray (Matthew 6:9-12)
7. Give (Luke 6:38)
8. Make disciples (Matthew 29:18-20)
Acts 2:36-47: “From the beginning, the disciples loved Jesus and simply obeyed His commands.
